What are the basics of ozone-infused water?

  • Concentration ranges from 38–70 ug/mL (gamma).
  • Used for drinking, oral swishing, or cleansing an affected area.
  • It takes 24 minutes to fully saturate a 16 oz flask of water.

Start extremely slowly with these applications. It is a powerful modality. If you know you are sensitive, cut the starting points in half and slowly work your way up.

What are the best tips when using ozone-infused water?

  • Ozonated water has a very short half-life; drink it right after making it.
  • There is no hard data on how much is too much; it's not advised to exceed 16 oz a day.
  • Don't use a plastic cup; the gas can react with some materials. Glass or stainless steel is best.
  • Some like it stronger, others weaker; find what works.

What equipment is needed for ozone-infused water, and what else can it do?

Equipment

  • Oxygen tank
  • Oxygen regulator (usually comes with the generator)
  • Ozone generator
  • Water bubbling device

Mouth (dental) use

  • Daily swishing is only recommended when there is an oral infection or issue.
  • Swish 8 ounces in the mouth for 60 seconds, up to twice a day, until the issue resolves.
  • For infections deep in a tooth, oil pulling with ozone oil is generally preferred: swish 15–20 minutes, twice a day.

Washing wounds

  • Limb bagging and ozone oil are generally preferred for wounds, ulcers and infections.
  • Pour ozonated water over the area, and into the wound if possible, 2–3 times a day until resolved.

What are the precautions for ozone-infused water, and who should avoid it?

  • If there's negative feedback after drinking, halve the gamma and time next time, or stop.
  • Some people get headaches or a scratchy throat after drinking it; halve the gamma and time next time, or stop.
  • Stop if you get irritation or discomfort.
  • Pregnancy: check with your healthcare provider before starting.
